The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on Thursday approved Cialis (tadalafil), a drug aimed at treating erectile dysfunction, in men. The drug is an oral tablet taken by mouth once a day, with or without food, in order to reduce the likelihood of developing erectile dysfunction (ED).
In a study published on Thursday in theJournal of Sexual Medicine, researchers in the U. S. examined the efficacy of Cialis (tadalafil) in men with mild ED and compared the results with those of Viagra (sildenafil citrate).
After a 10-week, double-blind, placebo-controlled, crossover study in 18 healthy male volunteers, participants were given Cialis (tadalafil) once daily for 10 days, followed by a second dose of sildenafil citrate, at a maximum dose of 40 mg. All participants had a baseline sexual desire of less than 20% and a decrease in the total score on the Clinical Global Impression (CGI) scale (score of 0-20).
After the two-week treatment, the study showed that, after two doses, participants reported a greater decrease in their desire for sex compared to placebo. This is the first study to examine the effects of Cialis (tadalafil) on erectile function in a placebo-controlled clinical trial.
The study involved 18 volunteers and included 11 men with mild to moderate erectile dysfunction and four with mild to moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) with mild or no ED. The participants were given either Cialis (tadalafil) or placebo on a daily basis for 10 days. The study also included a control group, who were given Cialis for the same period of time and a placebo for the same duration. At the end of the study, participants were asked to take the drug for an average of 10 days after their last dose. All participants were asked to take one tablet a day, and the study continued for a maximum of 20 consecutive days.

Cialis was also used to treat erectile dysfunction in men who had undergone radical prostatectomy and benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
The study involved a total of 11 men with mild to moderate ED and four with mild to moderate benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH).
Researchers conducted a placebo-controlled, double-blind, crossover, single-dose study in 12 healthy volunteers. The study was conducted at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), San Diego, California, and the University of New Mexico (PNM).
The study involved a total of 9 men and 4 BPH patients, with the average age of 18 years. One group of men received Cialis for 20 consecutive days before their last dose of Cialis. The other group received placebo on a daily basis. At the end of the study, participants were asked to take one tablet of Cialis for an average of 10 days and then to take one tablet of placebo for the same period.
The participants were given Cialis for 10 days and then took one tablet of Cialis daily for the same time. Blood pressure and heart rate measurements were taken after the first and second doses. In the control group, blood pressure was measured by using a mercury sphygmomanometer during the last day of the study. The study lasted for about 30 days.
The study involved an average of 2 weeks, with a maximum of 6 weeks of follow-up. The participants in the study were followed for an average of 4.5 years.
The researchers found that Cialis improved the number of participants who reported ED, but also the percentage of those who reported a decrease in their ED.
